Qualcomm has announced that it will finally support Linux on its Snapdragon X2 chips. During the Snapdragon Summit, Kedar Kondap, SVP and general manager of compute and gaming at Qualcomm, confirmed that Linux support with Debian is expected to be available by the end of this year for the Snapdragon X2 series. This move comes in response to the longstanding demand from developers for Linux capability on Qualcomm’s chips.
Additionally, Qualcomm is working on upstreaming core drivers for its Hexagon NPU and Adreno GPU. Furthermore, Ubuntu support is set to arrive in the first half of 2027, expanding options for developers and users alike.
