KDE Frameworks 6.14 enriches regional awareness by incorporating specific holiday calendars, such as holidays in Vietnam, through the KHolidays library. The framework enhances the user interface of file operation dialogs, making prompts for file opening or running more visually appealing. Furthermore, users can now filter files by names more efficiently in Open and Save dialogs using shortcuts like CTRL+I or the Backslash key.
In terms of visual enhancements, the common Kirigami.FormLayout component has been updated to provide a more aesthetically pleasing layout, particularly in wide-view scenarios where horizontal space is limited. The multi-selection dialogs now allow users employing single-click selection to select individual items straightforwardly. Moreover, support for Breeze-themed icons for the Telegram Desktop app in the system tray area has been added, and KWallet now serves as a wrapper around the cross-desktop “Secret Service” system.
The release also addresses multiple bugs and regressions, including resolving issues that affected link functionality and display problems with Telegram icons in certain Plasma panel configurations. Fixes were also made for a high-priority bug that caused unnecessary horizontal scrolling in the Plasma Discover package manager.
