PorteuX 2.5 features a range of desktop environments, including GNOME 49.2, KDE Plasma 6.5.4, Cinnamon 6.6, LXQt 2.3, COSMIC 1.0, Xfce 4.20, LXDE 0.11.1, and MATE 1.28.2. Among its enhancements, the distribution now supports Flatpak applications, greatly expanding its usability.
Users must specify a valid path for Flatpak files on first use, which can be set through commands to add the Flathub repository, allowing them to utilize Flatpak applications in the standard way.
The LXQt edition of PorteuX has been updated to provide information about the windowing system being used (either X11 or Wayland). Similarly, the LXDE edition features improvements like better Openbox defaults, fixes for volume plugin issues, and color switching in the LXDE panel based on themes.
