For users of 24.04 LTS, these updates are now available. The last point release, Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, included Linux 6.14 and Mesa 25.0 from the now-retired Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky Puffin), which reached end-of-life on January 15, 2026.
Should users want the new kernel and graphics stacks, they are advised to check their installations and ensure they are connected to the main repository servers. Users can also manually install the linux-generic-hwe-24.04 package if necessary. After updating to the new kernel, it’s recommended to rebuild any third-party kernel modules, particularly if issues arise, such as sound output problems on devices like the MacBook Pro.
