The release also introduces support for System76’s COSMIC 1.0.8 desktop environment, adding features like the ability to copy the current path in the COSMIC Files file manager and addressing VLC freezing issues related to COSMIC Applets.

Several packages have been updated in this version, including the latest Firefox 148 web browser, Mesa 26.0.1 graphics stack, PipeWire 1.6 multimedia server, QEMU 10.2.1 virtualization software, and Mozilla Thunderbird 148 email client.
AerynOS 2026.02 also expands the installation options by introducing a "Console-only" installation method, which includes essential packages for setting up Wi-Fi, alongside a “Headless Install” option tailored for server environments utilizing Ethernet.
