Archinstall 3.0.9 has been released for the Arch Linux distribution, introducing several notable features aimed at enhancing user experience during installation. Among these enhancements is the ability to set up a Bluetooth connection directly during the installation process. The update also supports U2F (Universal 2nd Factor) authentication, reinforcing security measures for users.
One significant feature included in this release is an interface that allows users to adjust LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) iteration times, providing greater control over encryption settings. Additionally, a --skip-boot option is now available, enabling users to bypass the installation of a bootloader if desired.
Other improvements in this version include support for installing the inotify-tools package and the grub-btrfs setup when using the GRUB bootloader with Btrfs. The installation process has also been streamlined: the Root Password menu has been migrated to the Authentication menu, and the Users menu now resides in its submenu. Changes have been made to boot detection by utilizing PartitionFlag.BOOT instead of mountpoint, and audio configuration functionality has moved to application settings.
Archinstall 3.0.9 further updates the bootctl command to incorporate a new --variables= option, and documentation has been improved with mentions of the --config-url feature. The installation utility’s internal workings have been refined, addressing bugs to enhance overall functionality.
