Valve has released a new stable version of the Steam Client, which enhances compatibility for DualSense controllers on Linux systems. This update addresses a specific issue where connecting an idle DualSense controller could cause crashes on Linux. Additionally, it improves the High Contrast view for game list searches and the app filter panel.
Among the notable features, the update adds support for dual gyros for Nintendo Switch Joycons when used in combined mode. Other enhancements include the ability to switch tabs within the tabbed browser using CTRL+TAB and improved game recording performances for certain titles that utilize Vulkan rendering. Moreover, it introduces mitigations for the newly discovered Unity vulnerability, CVE-2025-59489, which prevents a game from launching through the Steam Client if a potential exploit is detected.
Streaming functionality has also been improved, addressing an issue where the streaming option might not respond when clicked. The in-game overlay received fixes for a crash that could occur in Direct3D 12 (D3D12) games, particularly when sections of the overlay were rapidly opened and closed. Further improvements were made to SteamVR, ensuring notifications properly appear after exiting VR mode.
For Windows users, the update adds detection for Secure Boot and TPM, which can be viewed under Help > System Information, and this data will be collected for the Steam Hardware Survey.
Players can easily update their Steam Client by accessing the Steam menu and selecting ‘Check for Steam Client Updates’. After downloading, simply click on ‘Apply and Restart’ to complete the installation of the latest version.
