PUNKCAKE Délicieux are a pair of game developers who publish compact, entertaining games approximately once each month. Recently, they’ve rolled out Linux (and macOS) versions for all their existing games. Their catalogue offers a variety of enjoyable games that may capture your interest.
A game you might be familiar with is Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate, an unusual strategy roguelike inspired by Chess, only here, your army is replaced by a shotgun. This game was reviewed by me in 2022 when accessed using Proton and I found it highly entertaining.
They also have created many recent games, but Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate comes with my personal recommendation.
Apart from this, their games include their latest entry for this month, Stray Shot. This is a compact arena shooter with several clever twists which seems to introduce some great chaos: “A unique twin-stick arena shooter, where your actions primarily determine the difficulty. Shooting recklessly at the walls will summon a flood of enemies, whereas not shooting enough will result in a mediocre score. It’s crucial to observe the diverse behaviors of the monsters and devise a strategic approach to fight them. The more monsters there are in the arena, the higher the points for each one defeated.”
