Today, SpaceXAI announced its partnership with the Omacom Foundation to support the Linux distribution, Omarchy, with a generous donation of $1.5 million worth of Grok tokens. This collaboration positions SpaceXAI as a Founding Corporate Patron, aimed at expediting development efforts, code reviews, and bug fixes for the platform.
Omarchy has gained attention not only for its tech ambitions but also for its contentious co-founder, David Heinemeier Hansson, famous for creating Ruby on Rails and launching Basecamp. Hansson has recently faced backlash for promoting anti-immigration sentiments in his blog posts, which have been described as racially charged. This controversy has placed the Linux project in the crosshairs of critics and supporters alike.
Several companies have previously faced scrutiny for their association with Omarchy, including 1Password and Cloudflare. When asked about their involvement, Cloudflare’s CEO, Matthew Prince, stated that it was not his responsibility to monitor the political beliefs of individuals associated with projects they fund.
