The update aims to provide users with a consolidated installation media for those looking to deploy Debian on new hardware or those who experienced issues with earlier versions. Notably, Debian 12.3 was skipped due to a critical bug in the EXT4 file system that could lead to data corruption.

For downloading, Debian 12.11 installation images are accessible for multiple architectures, including 64-bit (amd64), 32-bit (i386), and more specialized architectures. There’s even a “Standard” live ISO that doesn’t come with a graphical environment.
Existing users of Debian GNU/Linux 12 “Bookworm” can easily update to the latest version by executing sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade in a terminal. Alternatively, a graphical package management tool like Synaptic can facilitate this update process.
