Beyond new hardware support, fwupd 2.0.15 brings several enhancements such as allowing child devices to adopt the parent name as a prefix, improved command options for Fish shell completion, and support for firmware archives labeled as .CAB files instead of just .cab. Additionally, this version ensures proper operation, such as correctly erasing Firehose modem devices, using improved naming conventions for Elan touchpads and Intel PCH SPI devices, and enforcing system shutdowns for all Micron NVMe updates.
Furthermore, the release fixes several bugs, including resolving Goodix enumeration issues and problems related to firmware reports, and addresses build defects on the FreeBSD system, among other fixes.
