The Slimbook Evo 14 and Slimbook Evo 15 are new lightweight laptops boasting high-resolution displays and powerful hardware. They are equipped with AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 365 Strix Point processors and are available starting at €1077 (approximately $1265).
These laptops distinguish themselves by offering the option of free installation of various GNU/Linux distributions, including popular choices like Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. Alternatively, users can opt for a Windows installation for an additional cost.
The Slimbook Evo 14 features a 14-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, providing up to 500 nits of brightness. It houses an 80 Wh battery, has a sleek aluminum chassis measuring 16.9mm in thickness (0.67 inches), and weighs 1.4 kg (3.1 pounds).
In contrast, the Slimbook Evo 15 comes with a larger 15.3-inch 2560 x 1600 pixel display with the same refresh rate but a brightness of up to 400 nits. The Evo 15 also features a numerical keypad, has a larger 99 Wh battery, and is slightly thicker at 18.1mm (0.71 inches), weighing 1.6 kg (3.5 pounds).
