Spanish PC company Slimbook has been collaborating with the KDE developers since 2017 to produce KDE Slimbook laptops, which run on the KDE Neon GNU/Linux distribution. The latest in the lineup, the KDE Slimbook VII, is noted for its high specifications, featuring an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor with 10 cores and 20 threads, complemented by a 12-core Radeon 880M integrated graphics card.
This model is now available for pre-order at a starting price of €1029 ($1190), set to begin shipping in December. The retail price will rise to €1099 ($1270) once it is available. The base model comes equipped with 16GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 500 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. However, it can support up to 128GB of RAM through its dual SODIMM slots and offers two M.2 slots that accommodate up to 16TB of storage.
Additional features of the KDE Slimbook VII include a 16-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The laptop is powered by an 83 Wh battery, supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and includes a comprehensive array of ports:
The design boasts an all-aluminum chassis, a backlit keyboard complete with a number pad, a 720p webcam, dual microphones, and a quad-speaker system. For cooling, the laptop employs two internal fans, ensuring optimal performance.
In dimensions, it measures 357 x 249 x 20 mm (14" x 9.8" x 0.8") and weighs 1.86 kg (4.1 pounds).
