The virtio interface is designed for high-speed connections in virtual machines, potentially offering better performance than the traditional ttyd. However, switching to virtio involves giving up certain features, such as multiple console tab support, which might be a disadvantage for users.
Currently, the transition to the virtio console appears problematic, causing errors and boot log issues for some users.
