Archinstall 3.0.15 has been released, introducing several new features and enhancements to Arch Linux’s installation process. This latest version of the menu-based installer now includes support for the rEFInd boot manager, making it easier for users to switch between different operating systems.
In addition to boot manager support, Archinstall 3.0.15 features compatibility with the Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS), stable support for the COSMIC desktop environment, and improvements in power management through integration with the power-profiles-daemon and tuned. The release also brings a timer to the post-install screen, making the installation process more user-friendly.
Notably, users can now explicitly select additional repositories during installation and configure the Zram algorithm for memory management. This version also dynamically sets up Zram based on best practices, which optimally manages memory usage for faster performance.
Changes include making removable media the default location for bootloader installations and dynamically adjusting the LVM root size. The installer also addresses some usability issues, such as improving menu filtering and sorting, and fixes an issue where the mirror list would hang if the status endpoint was down.

This version is available in Arch Linux’s stable repositories and can be used with the current ISO snapshot by updating via the command sudo pacman -Sy archinstall.
