LaunchBox initially started as a frontend for DOSBox but has evolved to support modern PC games as well as emulated console platforms, offering a comprehensive solution for gamers who enjoy both new and classic titles. This new development comes after their earlier interest in porting the software to Linux in 2018, as reported by GamingOnLinux.
With the recent rise in the popularity of Linux gaming, due largely to Valve’s SteamOS and devices like the Steam Deck, LaunchBox developers feel it’s the right time to advance their previous plans.
